Liability Waiver & Release

Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability

Participants acknowledge that dance instruction — whether online or in-person — carries inherent risks including:

• Risk of physical injury from dance movements
• Risk of falls or collisions with objects in practice space
• Risk of muscle strains, sprains, or other physical injuries
• Risk of cardiovascular stress from physical activity

Acknowledgment of Physical Requirements

By participating in Your First Dance LLC’s services, I acknowledge that:

• Physical Fitness: Dance instruction requires physical movement and exertion. Consulting with a healthcare professional before beginning any dance or physical activity program is recommended.
• Practice Space: I am responsible for ensuring adequate space to safely perform dance movements. A clear walking space with a non-slip surface, free of obstacles, sharp edges, and tripping hazards is recommended for executing figures, steps, and movements.
• Appropriate Footwear: I will wear suitable footwear for dancing — avoiding socks on slippery surfaces, high heels on uneven floors, or bare feet on rough surfaces.
• Partner Communication: I will communicate openly with my dance partner about comfort levels, physical limitations, and boundaries.
• Personal Responsibility: I accept full responsibility for choosing to participate and acknowledge researching and understanding physical requirements and potential risks with appropriate professionals as needed.
• Skill Level: I will only attempt movements appropriate to my skill and fitness level. I will not attempt advanced moves (e.g., lifts, dips) without proper preparation and a spotter if needed.

Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate in Your First Dance LLC’s dance instruction services, I hereby:

1. RELEASE AND DISCHARGE Your First Dance LLC, its owners, instructors, employees, and agents from any and all liability for injuries, damages, or losses arising from participation in dance instruction — including but not limited to personal injury, illness, death, property damage, or injuries sustained by me, my dance partner, or any third party during practice.
2. ACKNOWLEDGE that online instruction has inherent limitations, including the inability to provide hands-on corrections or real-time safety monitoring. Our instructors and content creators cannot observe, assess, or correct your form, technique, or physical limitations through the App.
3. ASSUME ALL RISKS associated with participation, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, including those arising from the negligence of other participants or the released parties.

No Guarantee of Results

Participants understand that:

• Individual results vary based on practice, physical ability, and other factors
• Your First Dance LLC makes no guarantees regarding skill development, performance quality, or readiness for your wedding day
• Success depends on individual effort and abilities

Medical Emergencies

Your First Dance LLC:

• Does not provide medical advice or treatment
• Is not responsible for any medical emergencies that may occur
• Recommends stopping immediately if experiencing pain, dizziness, or discomfort
• Recommends consulting a healthcare professional before engaging in physical activity if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, injuries, or are pregnant

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Your First Dance LLC, its owners, instructors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to your use of our services, your breach of this Waiver, or your negligence or willful misconduct during dance practice.

International Participants

For participants outside the United States:

• This waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by applicable law
• If any portion is held invalid, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect
• You acknowledge participating from your own jurisdiction at your own risk

Governing Law

This Liability Waiver & Release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Agreement to Terms

By purchasing or using any services from Your First Dance LLC, I confirm that I have read and understood this liability waiver, I voluntarily agree to all terms and conditions, I am at least 18 years of age, and this waiver is binding upon my heirs, executors, and assigns.
